Ex-Resident Dead, Age 78

Graveside rites were held Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery for Mrs. Augusta Schurman, 78, of Lincoln. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hilgenkamp, pioneer farmers of this vicinity and was born Sept. 5, 1877. She left here immediately after her marriage and lived in Seward for a number of years.

Survivors include seven children, four sons and three daughters, all living away from here. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Lena Echtenkamp and Mrs. Tillie Walkenhorst; and two brothers, Henry and William Hilgenkamp, all of Arlington. Funeral services were held in Lincoln. She had been ill for a long time.
