John Gallagher

Services for John Bernard Gallagher were held Wednesday, April 16, at the Roeder Mortuary in Omaha, burial was in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Gallagher died April 13, 1986 after a four-year illness. He was born November 26, 1913 in Omaha. His parents were John Patrick and Ethel Sorensen Gallagher.

He lived and attended school in Florence and later moved to Blair with his parents, attending school there. They moved to a farm in the Wranch School district where he lived with his parents until marriage. He married Dorothy Stewart on October 25, 1935, and they moved to Omaha. The couple had one daughter Charlotte Ann.

Gallagher worked for the Omaha Police Department and retired as a Detective Sergeant after 34 years work.

He was a member of Florence Masonic Lodge No. 281 A.F. & A.M. and a Past Master there in 1959. He was a member of the Omaha Police and Fire Retirees and the Eagles Club No. 200 at Fremont.

Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy S; daughter, Charlotte A. Kimmel of Littleton, Colorado; two granddaughters, Kimberly and husband Robert Hoffmann of Englewood, Colorado; and Pamela Kimmel of Littleton, Colorado; two brothers Vernon and Robert of Omaha, five sisters Alice Wolff, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Nussrallah, Mrs. Harold (Janet) Olsen all of Omaha, Mrs. Ray (Helen) Gottsch and Mary Ludwick both of Portland, Oregon.
