Word has reached Blair of the death of Mrs. Viola Carter at Long Beach, Calif., following an operation. Mrs. Carter had been suffering from cancer for a number of years. She was an early resident of this county and was the wife of the late Dan Carter who recently died at the National Soldiers Home in Kansas.

A short time ago we had a news item about the death of Dan Carter at the National Soldiers Home in Ft. Leavenworth, Kans., and last week word was received here of the death of his wife, Mrs. Viola Carter, following an operation for cancer, at her home in Long Beach, Calif. Both were early residents of this county.
