Services were Tuesday, March 21 at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha for Allison Jo Wallace Caruso, 42 of Grand Island, who died March 18, 1995 of brain aneurysm. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Allison Caruso underwent a heart transplant in 1989 at Lincoln’s Bryan Memorial Hospital. Washington County residents assisted with a fundraising event in Fort Calhoun to help with the medical costs. A fund-raising effort was also conducted in Grand Island to help pay medical costs.

The aneurysm was not related to the transplant.

Her usable organs were donated. However, the heart cannot be donated because of the medication she was required to take over the past five years.

She graduated from Omaha Benson High School and obtained an associate degree from Spencer School of Business in Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orville F. Wallace.

She is survived by her husband, Steven J. Caruso, Grand Island; sons, John Caruso and Wesley Caruso and a daughter, Jessica Caruso, also of Grand Island; her mother, Willojene Wallace of Omaha; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Marianna Caruso of Fort Calhoun; brothers, Steven Wallace of Omaha and Bill Wallace of Lincoln and sister, Patty Massara of Covington, Louisiana and Kathleen Brown of Louisville, Nebraska.
