Robert V. Wager, 73, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., formerly of Omaha, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Robert V. Wager was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Arlington, to Vernon and Marian (Edwards) Wager.

He was a graduate of Arlington High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he took engineering classes.

He enlisted in the Army National Guard and was in the officer candidate school.

He was employed at M.U.D. as an engineering technician and later as a buyer in the purchasing department.

He was a member of the Industrial Management Club, which became the Omaha Chapter of the International Management Council and served twice as president. He was a master mason of Shiloh Lodge 327, A.F. & A.M. of Omaha and a member of the American Legion Post 1 of Omaha.

He worked for Northwestern Bell, AT&T, and later retired from U.S. West Direct.

He is survived by his wife, Laureen; son Robert and wife Christine Wager; and granddaughter, Taylor, of Covington, La.
