LOUIS DUNKLAU DIED AT AGE OF 93 YEARS

Funeral services for Louis Dunklau, 93, were at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. The Rev. Robert J. Backhuus officiated. Dunklau died Thursday at the Memorial Hospital of Dodge County Annex.

He was born November 4, 1881, on a farm near Arlington. Dunklau was a lifetime resident of Arlington. He was a retired farmer. Dunklau was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Layman’s League.

He married Amelia Gnuse June 3, 1908 in Arlington. She died August 26, 1974.

Survivors include sons, Ewald, Arlington; Harold, Kansas City; Martin, Omaha; and Rupert, Fremont; and daughters, Mrs. Irwin (Ruth) Harrie and Mrs. Richard (Ada) Seidler, both of Omaha.

Visitation was at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home in Fremont.

Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington. Casket Bearers were: Allan Dunklau, Paul Dunklau, Tom Harrie, Edward Dunklau, Charles Iske and David Harrie.

Louis Dunklau was born on a farm near Arlington, Nebraska on November 4, 1881. He was the son of Zacharias Dunklau and Johanna Oberbrinkman. He lived in the Arlington community all his life.

He married Amelia Gnuse on June 3, 1908. His wife preceded him in death by one year and two days.

He was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Layman’s League until the time of his death.

Mr. Dunklau passed away August 28, 1975 at the Memorial Hospital of Dodge County Annex in Fremont, at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 24 days.

He is survived by sons: Ewald of Arlington, Martin of Omaha, Harold of Kansas City and Rupert of Fremont. Daughters: Mrs. Irwin (Ruth) Harrie and Mrs. Richard (Ada) Seidler, both of Omaha. Thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
