KAREN LILLIAN DUNLAP, 83

Services for Karen Lillian Dunlap, 83, were held March 21, 1996, at the Roeder Funeral Home in Omaha. Rev. James M. Cunningham of Modale, Iowa, officiated. Burial was held in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

K. Lillian Dunlap was born May 9, 1912, in Eldora, Iowa, to Hans and Kristina (Hansen) Sorensen. Her family moved to Blair in 1915.

After graduating from Blair High School, she attended Dana College. She later taught briefly and then worked for several years at the Danish Publishing House. There she helped publish and print Bibles and a newspaper.

She met her husband, C. D. “Doc” Dunlap, who was a Raleigh products salesman. They lived in Blair, McCook, Denver, Colo., and Casper, Wyo., before returning to Omaha in 1966 where he established his own business, Dunlap Card Co. She became her husband’s bookkeeper. Her husband died in 1983. Her son, Doug, and daughter-in-law continue the business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Harry.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-laws, Doug and Monica of Omaha and Dick and Carol of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Alma Parrish of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Carl C. Dunlap of Blair and several nieces and nephews.
