Klara I. Schwartz, 79

Services for Klara Ida Schwartz, 79, of Omaha who died September 19, 1993 at her home of cancer will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 25 at Luther Memorial Church in Omaha. Rev. Leland J. Griess will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha.

Klara Ida Schwartz was born May 14, 1914 in Zgiers, Poland to Wilhelm and Anna Hentschel Steinke. She came to the United States in September, 1956, from Rohrbach, Austria where she and her family settled after World War II. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States May 1, 1962.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Poland. She was a member of Lutheran Memorial Church.

She worked at Methodist-Midtown as a receptionist before her retirement.

She married Leopold August Schwartz in Zgiers August 15, 1937. He preceded her in death April 15, 1981.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Adolf, Theodor, Otto, Friedrich Wilhelm; sisters, Emma and Lidia and seven brothers and sisters who died as infants.

She is survived by six children and their spouses, Marita and Jerry Albers of Columbus; Gunther and Kathryn Schwartz of Blair; Helga Kathe and Thomas Hopkins of Glendale, Missouri; Hans and Ellen Schwartz of Omaha; Chaplain Dieter Eric and Susan Schwartz of Harker Heights, Texas; and Anne and Ernst Grodl of Austria; 21 greandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Thomas S. Hopkins, Christopher P. Schwartz, Lyndon Loschen, Thomas C. Albers, Panikos Stovrou, Sean Clawson, Jeff Williams and Joe Kresl.

Memorials may go to Luther Memorial Church.

Crosby-Kunold-Burket-Swanson-Golden Funeral Chapels in Omaha is in charge of arrangements.
