Retired Fontanelle Farmer Died at Fremont Sunday

John Leland Schwede, 81, died Sunday morning at Colonial Care Center in Fremont. Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Latten-Dugan-Chambers Chapel with the Rev. Jackson Sherwood officiating. He was born March 9, 1894 in Fontanelle and was engaged in farming in the area until 1965 when he moved to Fremont to be near his nephew and family, Wayne DePue. Burial was in Salem Lutheran of Fontanelle Cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Nelson, Russell Cunningham, Ray Harmon and Curt Lallman.
