Services for Hertha R. Pettit, 80 of Mullen, Nebraska who died July 30, 1991 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Mullen were Friday, August 2 at Jones Funeral Chapel in Benkelman, Nebraska. Rev. Vernon Whetstone officiated. Burial was in the Benkelman Cemetery.

Hertha R. Pettit was born December 13, 1910 in Kennard to Sylvester and Isabelle Pettit. She married Frank H. Pettit May 1, 1924 in Burlington, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1972; her parents, a son, Sylvester and son* sons in infancy; three daughters, Mary Lou, Frances Mae and Verna Rose; four brothers, Robert, George, Pete and Lawrence; two sisters, Gertrude and Lillie and one grandson.

She is survived by one son, Loyd and one daughter, Marian (Mrs. George) Follett, both of McCook; one sister, Ida Lauthrup* of Kennard and three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren, Melvin Boyles and Jim and Darlene Osburn.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Campbell, Wilbur Reiman, Eddie Watt, Raymond Bowers, Bill Osborn and Alva Shaw.

Jones Funeral Home of Benkelman was in charge of arrangements.
