Donna Spangler, 86

Donna Spangler, 86, of Blair, formerly of Norfolk and Wisner, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and will continue on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Donna Jean Hyland was born Oct. 24, 1927 in rural Wisner to Leonard and Lena (Von Seggern) Hyland. She attended Cuming County Rural School 17 and graduated from Wisner High School in 1945.

On June 16, 1946, she married Bob Spangler at the Methodist Church in Wisner.

They farmed north of Wisner until December of 1973 when they moved to Norfolk. She worked for a meat locker in Norfolk until her retirement.

She entered the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair in June of 2007.

Mrs. Spangler was a member of the Westridge Methodist Church and the Valley Vagabonds Campers Club in Norfolk. She enjoyed traveling the United States.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Spangler of Blair; son Larry Spangler of Blair; daughter Connie Carstens of Blair; granddaughters Monica Carstens and fiancé Mike Woolman of Omaha and Tiffany Carstens of Omaha; great-grandchildren Breanna Carstens and Jayda Cribbs of Omaha; sister Bonnie and husband Jack Sorensen of Corona, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bob and wife Dotty Hyland; and in-laws Mildred and husband Earl Schwartz and George and wife Bonnie Spangler.
