Age 65 of Fort Calhoun, NE. Preceded in death by father, Don Turner; and sister, Peggy Klutts. Survived by husband, Richard "Dick" Walentine of Fort Calhoun; daughter, Meghan (Troy) Anderson of Guide Rock, NE; son, Devin Walentine of Nebraska City, NE; mother, Barbara Olsen Huff of Oakland, IA; brothers, Fred Turner, and Kelly (Dawn) Turner, D.V.M. both of Oakland, IA; step-children, Rick Walentine of Jamestown, ND, and Dan (Betty) Walentine of Omaha; grandchild, Zane Anderson; step-grandchild, Joey Walentine; nieces; nephews; and a host of friends.

Debby graduated from Oakland (Iowa) High School in 1966, and from Nebraska Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. Debby was employed as an R.N. at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, where she was a Surgical Nurse for many years. Debby also worked as a Home Health-Care Nurse in Omaha and the Blair, NE area, until her retirement. She married Dick on December 5, 1980, and she and Dick resided near Fort Calhoun, NE since 1981. Debby was a member of the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church; the Nebraska Thoroughbred Breeders Association; the Nebraska Cattlemen's Association; and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Debby loved all animals and in particular horses, dogs, and Black Angus cattle. She and Dick bred and raced thoroughbred horses at tracks in Nebraska and in the Midwest for nearly 15 years. Debby was also active in Horse 4-H; and an avid supporter of her daughter Meghan's show horse activities.

VISITATION Monday, February 10, 2014, 6-8pm at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 11am at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Private Inurnment. Deborah L. Walentine, 65, of Fort Calhoun, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.

Services are tentatively set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.

Deborah L. “Debby” Walentine, 65, of Fort Calhoun, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Fort Calhoun. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun.

Deborah L. "Debby" Turner was born June 22, 1948, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Donald Dean and Barbara Olsen Turner.

She graduated from Oakland High School in Oakland, Iowa, in 1966 and from Nebraska Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1969.

She was employed as an R.N. at Methodist Hospital in Omaha where she was a surgical nurse for many years. She also worked as a home health care nurse in Omaha and the Blair area until her retirement.

On Dec. 5, 1980, she married Richard "Dick" Walentine and the couple has lived near Fort Calhoun since 1981. Mrs. Walentine was a member of the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, the Nebraska Thoroughbred Breeders Association, the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

She loved all animals and in particular, horses, dogs and Black Angus cattle. The couple bred and raced thoroughbred horses at tracks in Nebraska and in the Midwest for nearly 15 years. She was also active in horse 4-H programs and was an avid supporter of her daughter, Meghan’s, show horse activities.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Walentine of Fort Calhoun; daughter Meghan (Troy) Anderson of Guide Rock; son Devin Walentine of Nebraska City; mother Barbara Olsen Huff of Oakland, Iowa; brothers Fred Turner and Kelly (Dawn) Turner, D.V.M., both of Oakland, Iowa; step-children Rick Walentine of Jamestown, N.D., and Dan (Betty) Walentine of Omaha; grandchild Zane Anderson; stepgrandchild Joey Walentine; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Don Turner; and sister Peggy Klutts.

Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society, Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue.
