Regina Walkenhorst Cook, 78

Services for Regina Walkenhorst Cook, 78 of Arlington who died July 17, 1991 at Memorial Hospital in Fremont were Saturday, July 20 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington. Rev. Michael Rogers officiated. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Regina Walkenhorst Cook was born March 15, 1913 on a farm near Arlington to Frederick and Hannah Stranghoener Ahlmeyer. She lived all her life in the Arlington area.

She lived on a farm northeast of Arlington until 1940 when she moved into Arlington. She operated Walk’s Café inArlingotn from 1964-1967. She operated the Arlington Laundromat from 1974-1978.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington and the Over 60 Center.

She married Harry Walkenhorst April 20, 1932 at Arlington. He preceded her in death January 3, 1978.

She then married William S. Cook November 18, 1983 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death February 13, 1987.

In addition to her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dallas Walkenhorst and a sister, Elsie Hilgenkamp.

She is survived by two sons, Duane Walkenhorst of Phoenix, Arizona and Larry Walkenhorst of Lincoln; two step-sons, Robert Cook of Basking Ridge, New Jersey and Raymond Cook of Phoenix, Arizona; a step-daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Ronald) Peterson of Superior, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Eunice Walkenhorst of Lincoln; a brother, Harvey Ahlmeyer of Ogallala; sisters, Lillie Bensen of Fremont and Irene Dahlkoetter of Ogallala; and one grandson, Todd Walkenhorst.

Pallbearers were Roger Dahlkoetter, Dan Cook, Raymond Cook, Donald Kubr, Gary Hilgenkamp and Ronald Hilgenkamp.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
