Services to be Wednesday for Chester Pfeiffer

Chester E. Pfeiffer, age 88 who lived at 1748 E. 3rd in Fremont, died Sunday at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner, Nebraska.

He was born September 14, 1894 at Fontanelle, Nebraska. He lived all his life in the Nickerson-Fontanelle area where he farmed until he moved to Fremont in 1967. During World War I he was a waggoneer of Company B for the 314 ammunition train of the U.S. Army.

He served on the School Board of the Nickerson District.

On June 6th, 1943, he married Alice Crockett. He was a lifetime member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, a member of the American Legion Post 71 in Arlington, Past Master of Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 52 AF-AM of Arlington, and a member of Arbor Zitae Chapter 92, Order of Eastern Star in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife Alice, son Wayne Pfeiffer of Guelph Ontario, Canada and two granddaughters.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20th at the Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Officiating will be Rev. C. VanderStoep. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post Number 71 of Arlington.

A Memorial Fund has been established for Mr. Pfeiffer.

The Ludvigson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
