Lifetime Resident Of Fontanelle Died October 1st

Gertrude M. Pfeiffer, a lifetime resident of Fontanelle, died at a West Point, Nebraska hospital Monday afternoon, October 1st. She was 82 years of age.

Miss Pfeiffer was born May 28, 1891 at Fontanelle and lived there until 1967 when she moved to Fremont for retirement.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Salem Lutheran Church where she continued to be a member until her death.

As a young woman she attended the Fremont Normal, forerunner of Midland College. She was a member of Arbor Vitae Chapter No. 92, Order of Eastern Star and she was the Secretary of the Rosedale Women’s Club for many years.

Surviving is a brother, Chester E. Pfeiffer, a nephew, Wayne and a niece, Carol.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle. The Rev. Jackson Sherwood conducted the service. Esther Langhorst was organist. Burial was made in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Roy Fauss, Kermit Shurman, Henry Lubker, Ben Busboom, Percy Johnson and Curtis Lallman.
