Services Held Tuesday For Gertrude Pfeiffer

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the Arlington Community Church for Gertrude Pfeiffer, 91. Rev. Gerald Senn conducted the services. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Order of Eastern Star services were conducted by Sarepta Chapter 48 at Reckmeyer’s Funeral Chapel in Arlington and graveside.

Gertrude Pfeiffer was born on April 4, 1890 in Arlington to Commodore Perry and Dora Wager Masters, who pioneered in Washington County in 1857. She passed away Saturday, January 24, 1981 at Arbor Manor in Fremont, where she had resided prior to her death.

On September 17, 1920, at the age of 30, she joined the Order of Eastern Star. Throughout the years she held many offices serving as Warder in 1921; Ruth, 1922-23; Martha, 1924-25; 1934-35; Adah, 1926, 1929, 1932-33; Associate Matron, 1927; Worthy Matron, 1928; Esther, 1930; Electa, 1931; and Secretary, 1944-1954. She was awarded her 50-year pin in 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of the Arlington Community Church.

She is survived by several cousins.

Mrs. Charles House was organist. Vocalist was Elaine Cady.

Pallbearers were Howard Marshall, Leonard Thomsen, Leslie French, Charles Parr, Jerome Sperling, Charles House, and Bill Rhea.

Reckmeyer Funeral Home was in charge of services.
