MRS. JOSEPH PFEIFFER

Mrs. Joseph Pfeiffer, who was buried in the Ft. Calhoun (Nebraska) cemetery, Feb. 11, 1913, got up Sunday morning in her apparent usual health and died suddenly of heart disease while sitting in her chair. She was a kind, loving woman, who counted all who knew her as friends.

Miss Breach was born in Holstein 62 years, 7 months and 13 days ago, came direct to Ft. Calhoun twenty-nine years later and soon after was married to her late husband. About three years after his death seven years ago she left the farm and bought her a home here in Ft. Calhoun, where she lived in company with her grown-up son, Edward, and daughter, Miss Adele, the only living children, who still survive her.

She was buried near her husband and daughter, Mrs. Hans Kay. Rev. Lang, M. E. pastor at Blair, preached in German to a congregation far beyond the seating capacity of the Presbyterian church and her friends sent most beautiful flowers. Mrs. Chas. Rathjen and Dr. Curtis sang in German, with Mrs. Wallie McMillan at the organ. The pallbearers were William Iverson, William Schmidt, William Frahm, Jacob Sierk, Henry Rohwer and William Sierk and the honorary pallbearers were Tim Ohrt, Nicholas Resen, John Hindrichsen, Hans Schwager, Charles Rathjen and Claus Rix, all well known friends of the family who respected her in life and sincerely mourn her death.
