ESTHER W. DUTTON, 97

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 12 at Memorial Methodist Church in McCook, Nebraska for Esther W. Nylander Dutton, 97, who died July 8, 1996 at Crowell Memorial Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at McCook.

Esther W. Nylander Dutton was born September 22, 1899 at Kisa, Sweden to Carl Gustaf and Kristina Olson Nylander. In 1904 she immigrated to the United States with her father, uncle, sister and two brothers. From 1904 until 1908, she made her home south of McCook with her Aunt Clara Nylander and Uncle Andrew.

When her father remarried in 1908, she moved to Aurora, Illinois to live with her parents. In 1916, she returned to Sweden with her parents where she lived until 1919. She then returned to McCook to llve with her sister, Olga and her husband, Earnest Dutton.

On September 21, 1920, she married Blaine G. Dutton at Trenton, Nebraska. They made their home on the farm south of McCook where they lived for 26 years. After her husband died July 11, 1946, she continued to live on the farm until moving into McCook in 1967.

She has made her home at Crown Villa in Omaha from 1989 until moving to Crowell Memorial Home in June, 1996.

She was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church in McCook. For 10 years she served on the Wedding Reception Committee. She also worked at the “Helping Hand” used clothing shop until she was unable to do so.

Between 1949 and 1963, she worked as a nursing aide in the nursery at St. Catherine’s Hospital.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Anna and Teckla and Olga Nylander Dutton and her three brothers, Gunnar, Gustaf and Sigurd.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy R. and Leo McKillip of Blair; Betty J. and Robert Niccolson of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Helen A. Allen of McCook; five grandsons, Blaine McKillip and Creighton McKillip of Omaha; Scott Niccolson of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Eric Allen of Hutchinson, Kansas; and Ronald Allen of McCook; seven great-grandchildren, Katie McKillip, Megan McKillip, Ryan McKillip, Bonnie Allen, Eileen Allen, Amy Allen and Andrew Allen.

Memorials may be directed to the Food Bank in McCook.

Campbell-Aman Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
