JOHN DYER, 82
Services for John E. Dyer, 82 of Waterloo who died August 1, 1992 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont were Tuesday, August 4 at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Valley. Rev. Lawrence Sundell officiated. Burial was in the Elkhorn Cemetery.
John E. Dyer was born May 27, 1910 in a sod house near Agate. In 1917, his family moved to his mother’s birthplace in southern Douglas County. He attended elementary schools in Sioux county and at School District J-3 in rural Douglas County and attended Valley High School.
He was a treasurer of School District J-3 in rural Douglas County.
He married Louise Soll January 29, 1945 in Blair.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; two sons, Larry and Leslie, both of Waterloo; a daughter, Linda Biel of Central City; a sister, Hazel Holmes of Sumner and six grandchildren.
Memorials have been established to the Valley and Waterloo rescue squads.
