Robert W. Kroeger, Sr., 68

Services will be Tues. Oct 8 at John A. Gentleman’s Westside Chapel in Omaha for Robert W. “Bob” Kroeger, Sr., 68 of Omaha, who died of cancer Oct. 4, 1996. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

He worked in the construction industry in Omaha, throughout Nebraska and western Iowa for 50 years. He began with Dillon Construction, and then started Kroeger Construction in the early 1950’s. His company built more than 500 homes in Omaha before focusing on commercial and restaurant development in the 1970’s.

He received a north Omaha beautification award for an office development and an architectural innovation award for restaurant projects downtown and near 140th. Street.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Kroeger; a brother, Russ and a sister, Vonnie.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; sons and daughters-in-law, Rob of Omaha; Doug and Audrey, California; Mike, Ken and Patti; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Kroeger-Piper and Gary Piper, all of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law Roma and Ray Fackler of Blair and a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Barb Kroeger of Valley.

Memorials may be directed to the Methodist Cancer Center or Methodist Home Health Program.
