Paul Joseph Phalen, 73

Paul Joseph Phalen, 73, of Blair, formerly of Omaha, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were Monday Sept. 13 at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler Funeral Home in Omaha. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Omaha.

Paul Joseph Phalen was born April 15, 1926, to John P, Phalen and Rose Rodgers in Winner, S.D. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Omaha Fire Department for 30 years. He was a Captain at retirement. Phalen was also a member of the Omaha Police and Firemen’s VFW Post #9551.

On Sept. 18, 1996, her married Nina Davis Going.

He is survived by wife Nina and her children, Curtis Going, of Carmel, Calif.; Sandra Schafersman, of Fremont; Cary Going of Blair; James Going of Memphis, Tenn.; and two sisters, Louella Jedlicka of Crescent, Iowa; and Edith Rosso, of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Cecelia Friend; and two brothers Joseph and John Phalen.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
