Richard R. Philby, age 85, of Omaha died early Friday morning, January 20, 1989 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha after a brief illness.

“Dick” was born on June 25, 1903 at Rossville, Oklahoma to Alexander S. and Anna C. (Pollock) Philby. He worked for Skelgas in Omaha for several years prior to his retire-ment. Since retiring, Dick enjoyed attending rodeos and helped in the horse barn at Ak-Sar-Ben in Omaha.

Survivors include one sister, Delight P. Heck of Omaha and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and five brothers.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23 at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.
