Roland R. Stewart Died At Veteran’s Hospital

Roland R. Stewart died Friday October 8, 1976 at Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha. He was born on a farm Northwest of Blair, on September 27, 1915. He lived in Washington County many years and attended Wranch School and graduated from Blair High School in 1933.

Roland was a Staff Sargent in the Army Air Force in World War II and served in Africa and Europe 1941-1945. It was during these years he learned the trade of a welder and sheet metal worker. He returned to Omaha where he was employed by Hempel Sheet Metal Works until his forced retirement two years ago by illness.

His father, Roscoe W. Stewart preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Mary of Omaha, a daughter Linda Sherman of Detroit, Michigan, 2 grandsons Joel and Jamie, and his mother Mrs. Mabel Stewart of Omaha, also 4 sisters Mrs. Dorothy Gallagher, Mrs. Marjorie Reno, Mrs. Lorraine Hartman all of Omaha and Mrs. Lois Diefenbaugh of Ft. Calhoun.

Funeral services were held at the Kremer Mortuary on October 12, 1976 and burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.
