Miss Phillips Funeral Held

Lifetime Blairite, 72, Dies Saturday; Baptist Services Are Held

Miss Eva Phillips, 72, who spent her entire life in and near Blair, died Saturday at Blair hospital. The Blair woman, whose home was on East Lincoln St. for many years, was a victim of heart trouble.

Funeral services were conducted at First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial was in Blair Cemetery, with the Campbell Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Eldest daughter of Charles E. and Martha Phillips, Miss Phillips was born on a farm at Cuming City, just north of Blair, Mar. 12, 1875. Her parents, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

She was baptized Nov. 26, 1891, by the Rev. James Whiting in the old Baptist Church.

Surviving Miss Phillips are a sister, Mrs. Elmer Pate (Mary) of Blair; two nieces, Mrs. Norman Lothrop (nee Ida Knox) of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Clarence Addleman of Blair; two nephews and other more distant relatives.

RITES HELD FOR EVA PHILLIPS MONDAY

Eva Phillips, eldest daughter of Charles E. and Martha Phillips was born on a farm at Cuming City, March 12th, 1875. Both parents, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

She was baptized November 26, 1891 by Rev. James Whiting in the old Baptist church. She had lived her entire life in or near Blair.

Eva Phillips passed away on Febr. 21st at the Blair hospital. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elmer Pate of Blair and two nieces, Mrs. Norman Lathrop of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Clarence Addleman of Blair. She also leaves to mourn her passing two nephews and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Baptist church with burial in the Blair cemetery.
