Missi A. Pickell, 30

Missi A. Pickell, 30, of Tekamah, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, as result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Tekamah.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 16, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah, with Sara Hildreth officiating. Interment was at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Missi A. Pickell was born Aug. 11, 1971, in Blair to Trudy Buck. They lived in Tekamah until she was seven years old. She moved to California with her parents where she lived until graduating in 1990 from Mira Mesa High School. She helped her mother with day-care, until her mother died in 1991.

In July 1992, she gave birth to her only daughter, Ashley. They lived in Colorado for a short time before moving to Tekamah where Missi met and later married Brian Pickell on April 26, 1997. The family all lived together in Tekamah for the past six years.

Mrs. Pickell worked as a receptionist at the Blair Clinic, then provided daycare in her home for two years. She was recently employed by Wimbco Tanks, a subcontractor for Cargill.

She is survived by her husband, Brian, her daughter, Ashley, and her stepfather, Rick Going.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
