Janice Jerrine Sears, 43

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 5 at United Methodist Church in Decatur for Janice Jerrine Sears, 43 who died October 2, 1993 at Memorial Community Hospital where she had been a patient battling cancer. Rev. Charles F. Bailey is officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.

Janice Jerrine Sears was born April 24, 1950 in Blair to Don and Doris Beard Worley. She was baptized and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Decatur. She attended Elm Grove Country School and Decatur High School.

In 1972, she became a cosmetologist, graduating from South Omaha Beauty School. She later became a licensed day care provider so she could be home with her own family.

She married Danny Sears August 18, 1967.

She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law.

She is survived by her husband, Dan; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Ann of Decatur; sons, Ryan and Kyle, both of Blair; one grandson, Gage Daniel; her parents, Don and Doris Worley of Decatur; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Philip Lee and Mitzi and Martin Del and Karen, all of Omaha; two sisters-in-law, Sally Santos of San Jose, California and Trudi Bolken of Lincoln; five nieces, Kathy, Carrie, Melissa, Cami and Jill; and four nephews, Chris, Derek, Lance and Andy.

Casket bearers are John Maryott, Bob Worley, Matt Worley, Dean Hightree, Jeff Baker, Rod Baker, Rick Link and Robert Smith.

Honorary casket bearers are Kent and Carol Petersen, Dave and Jean Ray, Ed and Theresa Hansen, Brad and Mary Baker, Jerry and Roberta Sieck, Randy and Linda Magill and Beth Phelps and Wilma Hightree.

Dona Beard is organist.

Rod Baker and Kent and Carol Petersen will provide the music.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
