FORMER COUNTY BOY PASSES

Mrs. Grant Allen was called to Chicago by the serious illness of her brother, Fred Case, who was in a hospital there. A telegram has since been received from her by Blair relatives informing them of his death on Sunday, May 5. Burial will be made at Roffville, Illinois.

Fred was a former Washington County boy, born at De Soto fifty-seven years ago. He grew to manhood in this vicinity and attended the public schools.

He learned the canning factory business from T. C. Rutter, who owned and operated the Blair factory years ago. Mr. Case settled at Canton, Mo. where he has been in the canning business for years.

With his family, he visited Blair at Christmas and was ailing at the time and has gradually grown worse.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter of Canton; his mother, Mrs. Sam Haller of Blair; and three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Stockton of Schuyler, Neb., Mrs. Jessie Smith of Red Elm, South Dakota, and Mrs. Grant Allen of Blair.
