Samuel Case, Jr. was born at Plattsmouth, Cass County, Nebr., March 25, 1880. The family moved to Blair in 1898.

December 25, 1907 he was married to Miss Eva Marple, of Blair, the Reverend J. G. Shick, then pastor of his church, officiating. Eight children were born to this union.

In March of 1916 Mr. Case and his family moved to a farm in the Divide Center neighborhood, near Lyons, Nebr., and that has continued to be the family home.

Before his marriage Mr. Case united with the Methodist Church in Blair. When the family moved to Divide Center his membership was placed in the Divide Center Presbyterian Church.

He has also been a member of the Modern Woodman of America since his early manhood.

During the past two years his health has been impaired, although he kept about his work until two months ago, when he suffered a severe attack of influenza, followed by pulmonary hemorrhages, which resulted in death at 10:40 P.M., May 18, at the age of forty-eight years, one month and twenty-three days.

He is survived by his wife, eight children: Gertrude Ellen, Louise Marie, Robert Samuel, Dorothy Eliza, Floyd Frederick, Eva Bernice, Layland Russell and Leatha Ruth; two sisters, Mrs. A. M. Anderson and Mrs. William Gilliland, both of Blair, and many friends.

Services were held at the Methodist Church in this city on Monday, May 21, at two p.m., Rev. Carl Bader officiating. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
