Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, October 12 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont for Agnes L. McGahey, 84 of Fremont who died October 9, 1995 at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery at North Bend, Nebraska.

Agnes L. McGahey was born February 7, 1911 at Columbus to Pius and Louise Poeffel. She lived at North Bend until moving to Fremont in 1949. She then lived in Tacoma, Washington from 1980-1988 at which time she returned to Fremont.

She was an employee at the former Campbell’s Soup Co. in Fremont from 1949-1973.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.

She married Charles W. McGahey at Missouri Valley, Iowa, August 3, 1929. He preceded her in death April 11, 1964.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert and a brother, Oscar Poeffel.

She is survived by two sons, Richard of Fremont and James of Tacoma, Washington; two daughters, Jean (Mrs. Harold) Miller of Fremont and Betty (Mrs. Dalvin) Scheer of Arlington; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Todd Scheer, Greg Scheer, Bruce Scheer, Lyle Fenske, Jeff Miller and Brett Steenblock.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont or the Nebraska Stroke Foundation.
