Ex-Resident Of Blair Vicinity Dies In Omaha Monday At Age 54

Tracey E. McCardell, 54, of 3403 Arbor St., Omaha, onetime resident of the vicinity south of Blair, died Monday, a few hours after he collapsed with a cerebral hemorrhage. Rites are being held in Omaha this afternoon.

Native of Omaha, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John McCardell, he came to live at the William H. Allen home south of Blair when 10 years old. He was educated in Maney and Long Creek schools and later acquired a reputation as a vocalist and musician.

He and Annie Jacobson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ola Jacobson of Blair, were married Apr. 9, 1916. She and her infant daughter died Jan. 17, 1919, from the effects of flu, and Mr. McCardell later married Esther Dunn of Tekamah.

Surviving Mr. McCardell are his wife, Esther; two sons, Earl and Robert, and three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Soucie (Janet), Ethel Ann and Betty, all of Omaha.

TRACEY McCARDELL DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Tracy Earl McCardell, 54 years old, suffered a stroke at 2 p.m. Monday, September 22, passing away at his home 3404 Arbor, Omaha, Nebraska at 3 p.m. He was born in Omaha August 22, 1893, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McCardell; come to live at the Wm. H. Allen home, Sunny Side, at the age of 10. He received his education at Maney and Long Creek Schools where he was a great favorite.

He was a talented musician, both in voice and different instruments, and has done much orchestra work.

He was married to Annie Jacobson, daughter of Ole of Blair, April 9, 1916. She and infant daughter passing away during the flu epidemic January 17, 1919. He afterward married Esther Dunn of Tekamah, who with five children, survive him. Janet (Mrs. Sucie and her two sons); Ethel Ann, Earl, Betty and Bobby, all of Omaha.

His many Washington County friends will mourn his loss and greatly miss his genial personality.

Note: Tracey Earl was buried at Forest Lawn in Omaha. His death date was 23 September 1947.
