Former County Resident, Alfred ‘Mike’ McGill Dies by Mrs. Terry Andrew

Alfred “Mike” McGill, age 95, of Ponca, Nebraska died, Wednesday, January 14, 1981, in a nursing home at Ponca after a brief illness.

Alfred McGill was born, September 2, 1885, near Herman, Nebraska. He married Marie Hewer on March 5, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa. She passed away August 9, 1969. Mr. McGill was a lifelong Ponca area farmer, who retired in 1958 and moved into Ponca.

Survivors are nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held, Saturday, January 17, 1981, in the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca. Rev. Nile Buch officiated. Burial was in Ponca Cemetery.

Pallbearers were nephews Floyd Magill, Harold Magill, A. I. Magill, Percy Hue, Robert Schenck and Neil McGill.
