Clara McGill, 81

Clara (DeMeulmeester) McGill, 81, of Omaha, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha after a short illness.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Brewer-Korisko Chapel in Omaha. A funeral mass was held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Omaha, of which she was a member for many years. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.

Mrs. McGill was born Clara C. Ottis on Aug. 4, 1918 to Killian and Frances Ottis of Platte Center, Neb.

On Aug. 12, 1939, she married Michael L. DeMeulmeester. She was a beautician and manicurist. She loved camping and outdoor life.

Clara was the mother of Robert C. DeMeulmeester Sr., formerly of Blair, and grandmother of Bridget, Pamela, Lorrie, Bob Jr. and Bart DeMeulmeester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Leonard Ottis of Platte Center, and her former husband, Michael DeMeulmeester of Omaha.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene McGill of Omaha, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Donna DeMeulmeester Sr. of Elkhorn, and James and Linda DeMeulmeester of Omaha; two stepsons, Jerry McGill of Fort Calhoun and Kirby McGill of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Roxanne Heim of Plattsmouth; three sisters, Stella VanDyke, Eleanor and Joe Schaecher, all of Norfolk, Norma Jean and Art Waiter of Lincoln; two brothers, Anthony and Joan Ottis of Wahoo, and Alvin and Wilma Ottis of Madison. In addition to five grandchildren, she is survived by 16 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 20 step-great-grandchildren, three step-great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
