Samuel F. Cemer Jr., 74 or Blair, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services were Monday, June 2, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Samuel F. Cemer Jr. was born Oct. 8, 1928, in Trenton to Samuel and Mary (Terrell) Cemer Sr. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1946 and, while living in Trenton, worked for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.

In 1946 he married Donna C. Hisel in Oberland, Kan. In 1955 they moved to Blair. Mr. Cemer worked as a custodian for the Blair School systems for several years, and then worked as a civil engineer for the Nebraska State Department of Roads until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement, he owned and operated shoe repair businesses in Blair and Omaha until 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching Nebraska football.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Prudy Cemer and Dean and Cher Cemer, all of Blair; and Fran and Dawana Cemer of Madison, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Makings of Grant, Lois Wilkins of Omaha and Delores Rowe of Blair, and one brother, John Cemer of Tennessee.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
