Gerald E. Chamberlain, 77, of Blair, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah. Interment will be in the Craig Cemetery in Craig.

Visitation began Monday and will also be held Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Gerald E. Chamberlain was born August 30, 1927, to Leo and Bertha (Plummer) Chamberlain near Herman. He graduated from Herman High School in 1945, and served in the Armed Forces in Korea from 1951 to 1953.

On February 22, 1953, he married Mary Cain. Mr. Chamberlain lived and worked on the family farm his entire life. His interests included building his own R.V. and collecting and making scale model farm machinery. He enjoyed square dancing and traditional country music, and taught himself to play the Dobro. He and his wife attended many area music festivals.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Tekamah, and Landmark Masonic Lodge #222 in Herman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Herman; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Lee Bose of Orleans; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jaymie of Craig; four granddaughters; and a sister Barbara Steen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Memorials are suggested to the Herman, Tekamah and Craig Rescue Squads.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
