DORA DORNACKER BURIED APRIL 25th

Mrs. Dora Louise Dornacker, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wendt, was born Nov. 20, 1879 at Washington, Nebr. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington in 1946.

On April 4, 1901, she was united in marriage to John Dornacker, and lived on a farm north of Bennington until 1946. Due to her husband’s health, they retired from the farm and moved to Bennington.

She had been a member of the Ladies Aid for a number of years and was also a member of the United Lutheran Church Women. She was made a life member by the society on her 80th birthday. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors.

She passed away on Easter Sunday, April 22, at the age of 82 years.

She is survived by her son, Arthur, of Bennington; five daughters, Miss Greta Dornacker, Mrs. Nancy Ohrt, Mrs. Ruberta Christensen of Bennington; Mrs. Josephine Gottsch, Mrs. Bernice Zakaras, of Omaha; two brothers, Henry Wendt of Tucson, Arizona and John of Pilger, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Neil of West Point, Nebr., and Mrs. Minnie Andersen of Winside, Nebr. She had 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband and two sons, Elmer and Henry, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, April 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

(additional information) - - Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, April 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington, with Pastor Norman Schroeder officiating.

Mrs. Howard Almquist and Mrs. Harry Biesendorfer sang “Sweet Hour of Prayer” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Henry Kniep.

Pallbearers were Ralph Ohrt, Kenneth Ohrt, Terry Christensen, Ronald Zakaras, Elmer Nelson and Marvin Andersen.

Interment was in the German Cemetery with Hadan’s Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
