SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR CLARENCE DOTY

Funeral services at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home are 2 p.m. Thursday, April 15, for Clarence L. Doty, 76, of Fort Calhoun.

The Odd Fellows conducted a prayer service at the Mortuary on Wednesday. Burial is in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery with Masonic Graveside services.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Pete Doty of Lincoln; Clarence Doty and Richard Doty of California; and two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Phalen and Phyllis Husk. Two sisters, Mrs. Fern Cyper and Mrs. Jean Boone, both of California; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren also survive him.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of arrangements for the services.

FUNERAL HELD APRIL 15 FOR CLARENCE DOTY

Funeral services were held at the Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home on April 15, 1982 for Clarence Doty who passed away on April 12th. Burial was made in Fort Calhoun Cemetery, with John and David Phalenb, Bill and Rollie Husk, Cliff Doty and Gary Wiese, all grandsons, as pallbearers.

Clarence Doty was born in Florence, Nebraska on November 1, 1905 to Agnes and Owen L. Doty. He spent his boyhood in Florence and later moved to Benson. He married Helen Kahre of Omaha on October 23, 1926 at Papillion, Nebraska and to this union six children were born. The Dotys celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 1976 in Fort Calhoun. They moved to Washington County in 1943 and farmed a number of places around Fort Calhoun and Clarence worked for Dr. Tilden on his farm west of town for nine years. He spent 8 ½ years as Marshall of Fort Calhoun and retired as a painter in 1970.

Clarence belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star of Fort Calhoun and served as Worshipful Master and Worthy Patron. He was Nobel Grand in 1963 in the Odd Fellows Lodge and belonged to rose Rebekah Lodge in Florence.

He is survived by his wife, Helen and six children: Bud and Dick of California; Pete of Lincoln; Bev of Omaha; and Sug of Fort Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Cypher and Mrs. Jean Boone, both of California; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
