HELEN ANNA (KAHRE) DOTY, 93

Former Fort Calhoun resident Helen Anna (Kahre) Doty, 93, of Omaha, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and an Order of the Eastern Star service to follow.

Helen Anna (Kahre) Doty was born June 5, 1909, in Wessington, S.D. She was married to C.L. Doty on Oct. 23, 1926, in Papillion.

Mrs. Doty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Naomi Chapter No. 121 of Fort Calhoun, and the Rebecca Lodge of Florence.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Phalen of Omaha, and Phyllis “Sug” Husk of Fort Calhoun; sons, Owen Doty of Lincoln and Richard Doty of California; sister, Margaret Holiday of California; two brothers and a sister-in-law, George Kahre of Missouri, and Floyd and Joan Kahre of Arizona; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C. L.; daughter, Doloras Wiese; son, C. L. Doty Jr.; twin sister, Helma Thomson; sister Linda Johnson; grandson, Michael Doty; granddaughter, Penny Doty; brothers, Harry Rairden, Albeert Rairden, Richard Kahre and Clarence Kahre.

Memorials are suggested to Order of the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter No. 121 of Fort Calhoun and the Hospice House in Omaha.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.
