DELLA MAE DOWELL, 87

Graveside services for Della Mae Townsend Dowell, 87 who died at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair June 12, 1995 will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 16 at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home in St. Joseph.

Della Mae Dowell was born June 15, 1908 at Sebetha, Kansas. She married Frank Townsend in 1924 at Salina, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1966.

In 1975 she married Ben Dowell at St. Joseph, Missouri. He preceded her in death in March of 1995.

She lived in St. Joseph from 1924 to 1975 and in Hiawatha, Kansas from 1975 to 1995. She moved to Blair in 1995.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Townsend; a daughter, Jayne Rose; grandsons, James Rose and Greg Townsend; a sister, Margaret Ewing and a brother, Jess Flanders.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Spearn, Omaha; Susan Thorpe, Mesa, Arizona; Steven Townsend, Lake Zurich, Illinois; Brooke Modene, Tulsa, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Ann Townsend, Phoenix, Arizona; a son-in-law, Albert Rose, Aurora, Missouri; and five great-grandchildren.
