6 Nov., 1941 - The Enterprise EARLY SETTLER CALLED TUESDAY

Mrs. Magdalene Katherine Draeger, well-known to Blair people, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, at the Blair Hospital, after an illness of five days duration.

She was born in Peoria, Illinois, on April 23, 1871, and came to this county in 1889, and has since that time made Blair her home. On July 25, 1889 she was married to August Draeger, the ceremony being performed in Blair.

Five children were born to this union, Charles of Los Angeles, California; Louise Funk of Grand Island, Nebraska; Hannah Wilkins of Blair; Harvey of Denver and Helen Rosenbaum of Council Bluffs, Iowa. These, with the exception of Charles, who was unable to come, were present at the funeral rites which were held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o’clock from the Campbell Mortuary with Rev. C.E. Hamilton of the local Baptist Church officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

During her long residence of fifty-two years in our city, Mrs. Draeger formed a large acquaintanceship and those who knew her respected her for her many fine qualities. She was a real mother and a real friend. The husband passed on several years ago.
