Ramona Jean (Maslonka) Brinson was born on October 10, 1932, in Walthill, Nebraska to Theodore and Ruby (Chambers) Maslonka. She grew up on the family farm near Walthill where she attended grade school and graduated from Walthill High School in 1950. Mona went on to business school in Omaha for one year. As a young girl, Mona was active on the farm, helping with chores and cooking for the farm hands. She was active in 4-H and enjoyed riding horses.

Mona married Stephen Brinson on August 8, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska, and to this union three children were born: Ramona, Stephene and Stephen. Mona and Stephen raised their family in Omaha, Nebraska, New London, Connecticut, Lyons, Nebraska, and Blair, Nebraska.

Mona attended Iowa Western Community College and received her LPN certification in 1969. She worked at many of the area hospitals and Nursing Homes including Jenny Edmundson Hospital, Douglas County Annex, Immanuel Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Montclair Nursing Home, Florence Home and Papillion Manor. Mona enjoyed needle point, bird watching, gardening and collecting dolls. She treasured her time with her grandchildren, family car rides and boating. Her faith and family remained her focus and she loved occasions when everyone could gather together. Mona's two "favorites" were Christy Creme Ice Cream and dinner out.

Mona passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006, at the Life Care Center of Elkhorn with her family at her side at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Ruby, husband Stephen and brothers Raymond and David.

Mona is survived by her son Stephen of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters Mona Bacon of Omaha, Nebraska and Stephene Dinovo of Denver, Colorado; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law Bonnie Maslonka of Pender, Nebraska, Marcella Hinds of Centerville, South Dakota and Maryanne and Wayne Bakke of Sloan, Iowa; brothers and sister-in-law Ralph and Elanor Maslonka of Sioux City, Iowa and Daryl Maslonka.
