The funeral for David G. McGinnis, 33 of Nickerson who died August 8, 1995 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, were Friday, August 11 at Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. Rev. Charles Bichel and Rev. C. VanderStoep officiated. Burial was at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

David G. McGinnis was born June 7, 1962 in Fremont and grew up on the famliy farm near Nickerson. He graduated from Logan View Junior-Senior High School and in 1988 graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. He was a member of Phi Beta Lambda.

He lived near Nickerson except for two years when he lived in Omaha.

He worked for Mid States Distributing of Fremont, was a disc jockey at the former Raintree Lounge in Fremont and worked on McGinnis Farms.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his father, George “Mick” McGinnis of Nickerson and his grandmother, LoRena McGinnis of Fremont.

A memorial has been established to the church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
