Mrs. George C. McGinnis

Mrs. George C. McGinnis, 54, died July 27, 1988 after a lengthy illness.

The former Lila Stuenkel was born in Herman, Ne. where she was raised on the family farm. She was a resident of Nickerson, Ne. since her marriage to George C. “Mick” McGinnis on March 14, 1954.

Mrs. McGinnis was employed as a bookkeeper for Fremont Cake and Meal (now Archer-Daniels-Midland), she also worked for Campbell Soup and was a receptionist for Dr. L. G. Lefler.

Lila McGinnis was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. She was also a member of the Mother’s Club, the Lend-A-Hand Club, and the Nickerson Firemen’s Auxiliary.

Mrs. McGinnis is survived by her husband, George C. “Mick” McGinnis, a son, David G. McGinnis of Nickerson, her father, Howard Stuenkel of Herman and a sister, Mrs. Berkley (Marian) Wolf of Arlington.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 2 at the Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. The Rev. C. VanderStoep officiated.

Mrs. McGinnis was buried in the Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. Memorials may be given to the Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle.
