Harold McGowan, 80

Harold McGowan, 80, of Blair, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and Friday until service time at the funeral home.

Harold McGowan was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Omaha, to Harry and Grace (Barnhart) McGowan.

He attended Nashville Elementary School and Omaha Tech High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operating engineer for 50 years.

Mr. McGowan had many interest including buying and selling used automobiles and aviation. He was a private pilot for 40 years.

On Nov. 4, 1964, he married Shirley Clark. She survives him, as does a son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Jolene McGowan of Fort Calhoun; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Tom Brennan of New Castle; step-children, Wayne and Sandy Masloskie of Sturgis, S.D., Michelle and Gary Bragdon of Henderson, Nev., Carolyn and Doug Shald of Yuma, Ariz., Tracy and Michael Eberlein of Bolingbrook, Ill.; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeannie McGowan of San Diego, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra McGowan, and a sister, Tammy Victor.

Services 1 pm Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial Westlawn Cemetery, Omaha. Visitation 4-8 pm Thursday.
