Services for former Blair City Councilman Frank Drbal, 76, were held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 1987, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.

Father Dan Galas officiated. Burial followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

Pallbearers were Louis Murdoch; M. Stanley Jensen; Douglas Bullock; Roger Howland; Tony Hale, and Tom Lippincott.

Drbal died September 2, 1987, following surgery. He had heart trouble.

He was born October 15, 1910, in Brainard to Sylvester and Josephine (Veleba) Drbal. In 1942, he married Marie Posvar.

He served twice on the Blair City Council, from 1980 – 84, and then from September, 1985 through Decenber 1986. He did not run for re-election in 1986.

Drbal was also a member of the St. Francis Borgia Parish Council; chairman of the finance committee; he was recognized as the Firestone dealer with Nebraska Iowa Supply from 1957 – 75, and was a partner in that Blair company from 1959 – 76.

He was a member of the Nebraska Automotive Wholesaler Association; and a board member for three years; a member and board member of the Automotive Wholesale distributors; and a member of the National Tire Dealers Association.

From 1980 – 84, he was a member of the Blair fire Department.

Survivors include wife Marie; sons Larry of Olathe, Kansas, and John of Westport, Connecticut; daughter Mrs. Phil (Kathi) Steyer of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren; and sisters Mrs. Richard (Vlasta) Denison of Hawaii; Mrs. Edward (Sylvia) Janike of Lincoln; and Mrs. Warren (Josephine) Stewart of Sun City, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
