MARIE DRBAL, 87

Marie Drbal, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in Olathe, Kan. Mrs. Drbal had been living in Kansas to be near her son and his family.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Marie Drbal was born July 17, 1917, in Chambers to Frank and Margaret (Von Lom) Posvar. She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She taught school in Butler County for four years.

On June 27, 1942, she married Frank Drbal. Mrs. Drbal was a member and past president of the St. Francis Borgia Council of Catholic Women. She retired in 1988 after 22 years in the insurance industry. She started her career in downtown Omaha with Martin Bros & Company, which later merged with Carl Insurance Services.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Nora Drbal of Olathe, Kan., and John and Lisa Drbal of Westport, Conn.; one daughter, Kathi Steyer of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Maxine Kuchar of Norfolk and Marian Pemberton of Edwardsville, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1987, and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7701 Newport Ave., Suite 305, Omaha NE 68152.
