Services for Sam McIntosh

Funeral services for Harvey P. “Sam” McIntosh were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Rev. John Ewton officiated and Nancy Hanson was the organist. Graveside services were held at the Blair Cemetery.

Harvey was born December 13, 1923 in Modale, Iowa to John and Magdalena (Engelke) McIntosh. Sam attended school in Modale and Mondamin, Iowa. On August 3, 1946 he was united in marriage to Delores Campbell at Hiawatha, Kansas. They farmed in the Modale area until moving to Blair in 1958, where they farmed north of Blair.

Sam was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Blair and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He died Friday, March 1, at the age of 61.

Sam is survived by his wife, Delores, two daughters Mrs. Henry (Vicky) Hansen Jr. and Mrs. Dennis (Marlene) Clark, and one son Harold McIntosh, all of Blair; eight grandchildren; one brother John McIntosh of Blair; and three sisters Mrs. Grace Baker of Blair, Mrs. Eva Engen of Modale and Mrs. Goldie Houdesheldt of Blencoe, Iowa. Same was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Casket bearers were Clyde Fitch, Harry Jackson, Art Kempcke, Ray Schneider, Robert Utman and Duane Wilcox. Campbell Funeral Home of Blair made the arrangements.
