Services for Richard L. Drummond, 47 of Excelsior Springs, Missouri who was found dead September 1, 1994 near Higginsville, Missouri were Sunday September 7 at the Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church in Excelsior Springs.

Richard L. Drummond was born in Lyons, Nebraska and lived in Monticello, Iowa before moving to Excelsior Springs in 1982. He was a technical support group supervisor for AT & T, where he worked for 25 years.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was deacon at his church. He formerly served on the Lyons City Council.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Weeces Drummond; three daughters, Robin Drummond, Kristi Drummond and Holly Drummond; his mother, Alice Drummond of Lyons; three brothers, Lawrence Drummond, Jr., Fremont; Larry Drummond of Alliance, Nebraska and Donald Drummond of Decatur, Nebraska; his mother- and father-in-law, Gerald and Yvonne Weeces of Oakland; a sister- and brother-in-law, Carol and Kent Petersen of Blair and three brothers- and sisters-in-law, Tim and Terri Weeces, Minden; Lance and Annette Bliss of Tekamah; and Mark and Janelle Weeces of Tekamah.

Memorials are suggested to a fund for his daughters’ education, in care of the Community Bank of Excelsior Springs, 1001 North Jesse James Road, Excelsior Springs, Missouri 64024

Prichard Chapel in Excelsior Springs was in charge of arrangements.
