PIONEER GONE

Mrs. Margaret Dudgeon, one of the early pioneer settlers of this county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. D. Smith, of Tekamah, on last Monday.

Mrs. Dudgeon, with her husband, came to this county 48 years ago and settled on a homestead about eight miles south of Blair, on the place now owned by Paul Koenig, where they lived for a number of years. In the meantime Mr. Dudgeon entered into the contracting business with Jas. Riddler and had the distinction of building the first house on the townsite of Blair.

Mr. Dudgeon died about 17 years ago and since that time the wife has made her home with her children, three of whom survive her: Frank L. of Blair; Mrs. Smith of Tekamah; and David W. of Omaha.

The funeral services were held at the home of David W. on Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Florence, at 1 p.m. today, under the auspices of the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter of Calhoun.
