ROY E. DUDGEON, ONE-TIME BUSINESS MAN, BURIED

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Monday for Roy E. Dudgeon, 84, longtime Blair resident and businessman who died here February 14. He had been hospitalized for three weeks before his death.

Dudgeon was born December 20, 1891, in Omaha to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dudgeon. He was raised and received his schooling in the DeSoto community.

In 1914 he was married to Loretta Kuhl of Manning, Iowa. The couple had two sons, Wayne and Lyle.

In 1923, he was married to Allene Nelson of Fort Dodge, Iowa. They had two daughters, Elinor and Jacqueline.

He learned the plumbing trade as a young man in Omaha. In 1930 he moved to Blair and subsequently established a plumbing and electrical shop. He retired from active business pursuits in 1968.

His wife Allene preceded him in death in 1962.

Survivors include sons Wayne of Audubon, Iowa, and Lyle of Perth, Australia; and daughters Mrs. Terry Beaver (Elinor) of Tekamah and Mrs. Herman Lauritsen (Jacque) of Blair; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. John Fritzmeier officiated at Monday’s funeral rites. Pallbearers were George Lauritsen, Edwin Jipp, Leonard Lauritsen, Bob Sylvis, Willis Lucht and Bud Jensen.

Interment was in Blair Cemetery.
