Georgia I. Sexton, 81, of Arlington, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Olin Belt will officiate. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Prospect View Cemetery at Pierce, Neb.

Sexton was born Sept. 2, 1915 in Laurel, Neb. to Herman and Hester (Seely) Knight. She grew up at Pierce and was a 1934 graduate of Pierce High School. On Nov. 13, 1937 she married Earl L. Sexton in Pierce. After her marriage, she lived at Pierce, Osmond, Plainview and Creighton, Neb., before moving to Verdel, Neb., where she and her husband farmed for 35 years. She moved to Arlington in 1980.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Verdel and taught Sunday School there. She and her husband published the church paper. She had also been active in 4-H work.

Survivors are her husband, Earl, three sons and daughters-in-law, Meade E. Sexton of Arlington; Glade and Toni Lee Sexton of Woodbridge, Va, and Larry and Trela Sexton of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Rosalie Brannan of San Angelo, Tex., and Judith Poppos of Wheaton, Md.; a brother, Harold Knight of Hudson, Fla.; sisters, Helen-Joy Bauder and Frances Murnan, both of Omaha; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
